Logging Conference

The Oregon Logging Conference was in Eugene this weekend so we decided to take the kids down so that they could see all the big equipment. They loved it!

There were so many enormous machines as well as a some working saw mills that were pretty neat.

I couldn’t help but think of my grandfather (mom’s dad) who did some logging at the Biltmore House in North Carolina back in the 40’s using Clydesdale horses. Boy how things change. I don’t have a picture with the horses, but here’s one with a truck! He would have had fun with my kiddos!

Have you been to Biltmore? It’s beautiful, especially at Christmas. The next time we go, I’ll think of your grandfather!
